Markquart’s Jeep Summer Photo Contest
A picture is worth a thousand words… And yours might be worth $500! Markquart Menomonie is excited to announce the Jeep Summer Photo Contest beginning June 9, 2021 and ending July 9, 2021. Using your camera or phone, snap a creative photo of your Jeep and email it to PhotoContest@markquart.com, then post it on Facebook and tag @MarkquartofMenomonie. In the email, be sure to include your full name, phone number, year & model of your Jeep, and where the photo was taken. Each person is allowed to submit a total of five photos throughout the duration of the contest.
Whether you’re going off-roading, camping, chasing the sunset, or whatever else you love to do in summer, we want to see your photos!
The last day to submit your entries is July 9th. The Markquart team will select the top 6 photos based on creativity and aesthetics. These 6 images will be posted to Facebook and voted on by the public. The three winners will be announced on July 22nd on Markquart Menomonie’s Facebook page.

Meet Service Advisor, Jerry Totten
Originally from Spooner, Jerry relocated to the Menomonie area this past year. He was drawn to the Markquart name and excited to be part of the dealership service team. His favorite part about being a service advisor is the variety of tasks and the people he works with.
Jerry was in a car accident in 2004 and was never expected to walk, talk, or be back to work; he beat the odds and is proud to be where he is today. Outside of work, Jerry enjoys doing anything outdoors. His favorites are hunting, fishing, and playing volleyball with his family. He hopes to one day be cruising around in his dream car, a refurbished 1980 Chevy truck.

Before joining our team, Matt spent three years in Civil Air Patrol as a part of the US Air Force, working on emergency search and rescue teams. Outside of work, he is passionate about motion graphic animation and hopes to one day work on animating films.

How to Tell When You Need New Tires and Other FAQs
Wisconsin winters take a toll on you and your vehicle. Before the snow hits, you should make sure your car is up to the test. Keep reading to find answers to frequently asked tire questions.
Q: How often do I need a tire rotation?
A: We recommend a tire rotation every 6 months or 5,000-6,000 miles driven, or during each of your routine oil changes.
Q: How often do tires need to be replaced?
A: The NHSTA recommends that tires be replaced every 6 years or sooner. However, your tires’ wear and tear depends on how many miles you drive and road conditions. We recommended checking your tires regularly, and we will also check during each service visit.
Q: How do I know which tires my vehicle needs?
A: You can find what type of tires your vehicle needs by either looking at the tires currently on your vehicle or checking the driver’s side door jamb. Your car should have a sticker listing the requirements.
Q: How can I tell if I need new tires?
A: You can easily check your tires using The Penny test.
To test:
- Place your penny with Lincolns head facing down into the grooves of your tire.
- If you can see the top of Lincoln’s head, your tires are worn, and you should get them replaced.
- If part of Lincoln’s head is not visible inside the tread, your tires are probably fine, and you should not need them replaced this season.
- Repeat step 1 in multiple spots along each one of your tires to verify that the tread is consistent throughout.

Govin’s farm offers fun for all ages. From their 11-acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, pumpkin cannon, and more. Thrill-seekers will get their fix at Govin’s Farm Twisted Tales of Horror Haunted Maze taking place every Friday and Saturday evening through October 31st. This maze takes place in their cornfield, but those who don’t like a scare can take part in their magic show and a scavenger hunt.
Maple Leaf Orchard
At the Maple Leaf Orchard in Spring Valley, you can pick apples, feast on homemade desserts, enjoy a seasonal hayride, and much more! Be sure to stop in at the shop or pick your own grapes, apples, and mums. The orchard is open 10-5 daily through October 31st.
Menomonie Farmer’s Market
The fresh produce season is coming to an end, but you still have time to take in the Menomonie Farmer’s Market. Saturdays and Wednesdays through October 17th local producers bring their flowers, fresh produce, dairy, baked goods, and more on the corner of 8th street and 9th avenue.
Valley Pasture Farm & Pumpkin Patch
Valley Pasture Farm is the perfect place to enjoy some wholesome fall fun. They offer yard games, a four-acre corn maze, a pumpkin patch, mini-golf, and so much more.
